We’re Gonna Need Our Golf Courses
Golf is booming in Bella Vista and across the country. Read our latest Special Report.
Bella Vista Golf Overview
As an $84 billion dollar industry, golf is one of the country’s most popular participation sports, per Forbes.[i] Bella Vista golf benefits too as it continues its rebound from the 2014 to 2019 declines. These positive trends are expected to continue in 2023 and beyond[ii]. Indeed, through March 2023, POA rounds are up 53% from the previous year’s period.
This chart shows annual rounds history from 2014 to 2022 for golf in Bella Vista.[iii]
We could surmise that the decline in golf rounds from 2014 to 2019 partly resulted from ever increasing per round costs, while the increase in rounds from 2019 partly resulted from the opposite condition of lower prices. Three other forces surely also helped. The Board’s decision to differentiate our seven courses from each other increased attractiveness. The closure of or restrictions at other golf courses reduced supply. COVID-19 boundaries widened golf participation. These changes rebirthed the realization of the “what a great sport golf is”.
Golf indeed appeals to avid and beginner players, young and old, with new and old friends; it is truly a forever and every person sport. Bella Vista is ideally situated to benefit from these trends. Let’s explore this further.
